NoticiaCla launches INVESTIGATIONS after reader request

ORANJESTAD – NoticiaCla continues to listen to its readers. One of the clearest messages to emerge from NoticiaCla’s recent survey was the desire to see more investigative journalism: news that not only reports what happened, but also looks into why it happened, who is responsible and what the consequences are for Aruba.

We listened.

As a first concrete response to that request, NoticiaCla is introducing INVESTIGATIONS, a journalistic series dedicated to taking a deeper look at issues that affect the public interest.

The intention is not to chase sensation or point fingers without evidence. INVESTIGATIONS will focus on facts, documents, figures, contradictions and answers. Where there are questions, we want to look for the answers. And where government, an institution or another body has an explanation, they must also have the opportunity to provide it.

We are aware that investigative journalism requires time and work. But we believe that a news outlet should not only inform the public about what is happening today. It also has a responsibility to keep asking questions when something does not add up.

The first investigation begins now.

In a three-part series, NoticiaCla INVESTIGATIONS will focus on a question that affects citizens, business owners and investors: the government makes announcements and takes decisions, but how effectively does it turn them into results?

We will examine the distance between intention and execution, where processes may be getting stuck within the public apparatus, and ultimately how promises of change must be measured against concrete results.

This is only the beginning.

The survey gave our readers an opportunity to tell NoticiaCla what they want to see more of from us.
