Editorial Standards

Last updated: June 1, 2026

NoticiaCla, operated by Wired Media in Aruba, publishes original Papiamento-language news reporting on local, regional, and international affairs. We have published continuously since 2014. This page sets out the standards we hold ourselves to and the mechanisms readers can use to hold us accountable.

Editorial Independence and Ownership

NoticiaCla is owned and editorially controlled by Wired Media, a private company registered in Aruba. Wired Media is not affiliated with any political party, government body, or commercial interest that could influence editorial decisions. The technology platform serving NoticiaCla is operated by Dot 1 Technologies under a paid hosting and development agreement; Dot 1 Technologies has no editorial role.

Advertising revenue is the primary source of income. Advertisers do not influence which stories are pursued, how they are framed, or when they are published. Sponsored content, when published, is clearly labeled.

Sourcing and Verification

Reporters identify sources by name and role wherever possible. Anonymous sources are used only when the information is in the public interest, the source has direct knowledge, and the source faces a credible risk in being named. When anonymous sources are used, the article will indicate why anonymity was granted.

Facts of consequence are verified against at least one independent source before publication. Documents, statements, and official records are cited where applicable. Direct quotations are checked against recordings or written transcripts.

Editorial Process

Every article passes through an editor before publication. The editor reviews the article for factual accuracy, legal exposure, attribution, tone, and adherence to these standards. No article is published directly by a reporter without editorial sign-off.

Corrections and Clarifications

When NoticiaCla publishes information that is later found to be incorrect, we issue a correction. Substantive corrections are noted at the bottom of the affected article with the date of the correction and the nature of what was changed. Minor typographical or grammatical fixes do not require a published note.

If you believe an article contains a factual error, please email corrections@noticiacla.com (also reachable as info@noticiacla.com). Include the article URL, the specific claim you dispute, and any supporting evidence. We aim to acknowledge correction requests within two business days and resolve them within five.

Right of Reply

Individuals or organizations who are the subject of critical reporting are offered an opportunity to respond before publication whenever practical. Their response, if provided in time, is included in the article. When a response arrives after publication, we update the article to include it.

Plagiarism and Attribution

NoticiaCla does not publish material from other outlets without permission and attribution. When we cite reporting by another outlet, we credit them by name and, where possible, link to the original source. Wire-service material (when used) is labeled as such.

Complaints and Contact

Editorial complaints that cannot be resolved with the corrections desk can be escalated by emailing info@noticiacla.com with the subject line "Editorial complaint". Wired Media's editorial leadership reviews escalated complaints directly.
