Rafaela's first grand slam powers Red Sox to 10th straight road win

SACRAMENTO – Curaçao's Ceddanne Rafaela hit the first grand slam of his Major League career to lead the Boston Red Sox to a 4-2 victory over the Athletics, extending the team's road winning streak to 10 games.
Rafaela broke open the game in the sixth inning by launching a grand slam with the bases loaded, giving Boston a 4-1 lead. After the game, he said he always wants to be at the plate in key moments.
The Red Sox have now improved to 55-50 after a remarkable turnaround this season. Born in Willemstad, Rafaela signed with Boston in 2017, made his MLB debut in 2023, and won the 2025 American League Gold Glove as the league's top defensive center fielder.
