AF&BA surveys staff shortages and tourism capacity in F&B sector
ORANJESTAD — The Aruba Food & Beverage Association (AF&BA) has launched its 2026 Workforce and Carrying Capacity Survey to measure staff shortages, training needs and the number of visitors Aruba’s food and beverage sector can serve sustainably.
The study is being conducted with VIAMOON Consultancy and Connect2Teach.us, with sponsorship from the Aruba Tourism Authority. Both AF&BA members and non-member establishments may participate. Responses will remain anonymous and confidential.
According to AF&BA, businesses have long reported difficulty finding enough staff. Until now, however, the scale of the shortage and its impact on operations, growth and tourism capacity had not been systematically measured.
The results should provide clearer information about talent availability, vacancies, business confidence, industry concerns and growth expectations. They will also support training, talent development and collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
AF&BA is furthermore planning a new employment and recruitment platform to connect member businesses with potential workers and help fill vacancies.
The survey takes approximately 8 to 12 minutes and is available in physical and digital formats. Its findings will be compiled into a formal report for AF&BA, its industry partners and other stakeholders.
