Van der Burg praises Aruba's cooperation

ORANJESTAD – Dutch State Secretary Eric van der Burg said Aruba demonstrates how much can be achieved through cooperation and a shared vision for the future. During his visit, he met with Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt, Prime Minister Mike Eman, Minister Gerlien Croes and Minister Geoffrey Wever to discuss current developments and cooperation within the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Van der Burg also visited several organizations contributing to Aruba's future. At Tierra del Sol, together with Aruba Birdlife Conservation, he learned about efforts to protect the island's native Shoco owl. At Ecotech Aruba, he saw the importance of sustainable waste management, while the Crisis Management Office highlighted the value of regional cooperation, including its recent humanitarian support to Venezuela.

At the University of Aruba, he met students from Aruba, Curaçao and Sint Maarten participating in the Kingdom Startup Program. He also visited Vaper Trading to see how the BMKB-ACS financing program is helping local businesses invest and grow.

Van der Burg described his visit as valuable and said he is leaving Aruba with positive impressions and new insights to strengthen cooperation within the Kingdom.
