Aruba and Bonaire to meet in Caribbean Little League semifinals

SABANA GRANDE, Puerto Rico – Aruba and Bonaire have advanced to the semifinals of the Caribbean Little League Championship and will face each other today for a place in the tournament final.

This year's championship is being held in Sabana Grande, Puerto Rico. Curaçao is not participating after receiving a direct berth from Little League International to the Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.

Seven teams are competing in the tournament: the Bahamas, the U.S. Virgin Islands, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico (Yabucoa), Puerto Rico (Sabana Grande), Bonaire and Aruba.

At the end of the round-robin stage, the Dominican Republic and Aruba both finished with 5-1 records, followed by Bonaire and the Bahamas at 4-2. Sabana Grande finished 2-4, the U.S. Virgin Islands 1-5, and Yabucoa 0-6.

In today's semifinals, the Dominican Republic will play the Bahamas, while Aruba takes on Bonaire. The winner will move one step closer to earning a place at the Little League World Series in Williamsport.
