Serious accident on Watty Vos Boulevard causes extensive damage and major traffic delays

ORANJESTAD — A serious traffic accident on Watty Vos Boulevard caused extensive damage to a vehicle and roadside infrastructure, resulting in major traffic congestion as emergency repairs were required.

The driver reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a concrete roadside barrier, severely damaging it and leaving a section dangerously suspended over the roadway. The impact also damaged a nearby jogging path.

The vehicle continued across the road, scattering pieces of its bumper before crashing into another concrete barrier on the opposite side.

Authorities were forced to completely close the affected section of the boulevard, causing significant traffic delays. Urgent repairs to the damaged concrete structure were necessary before the road could safely reopen.

The driver was also injured, although the severity of the injuries remains unknown.
