ORANJESTAD — Fundacion Siñami Paso pa Paso Aruba is organizing an intensive training program for professionals working with people with mild intellectual disabilities (MID). The program will take place from November 16 to 27, 2026, featuring specialists from the Netherlands.

Organized through LVB-Kenniscentrum Aruba, the program focuses on recognizing and supporting people with mild intellectual disabilities. Topics include trauma, behavior, communication, exploitation, human trafficking, cyberbullying and the transition from education to employment.

Professor Xavier Moonen and Dr. Gabriëlle Mercera will deliver in-person sessions in Aruba, while other Dutch specialists will participate online.

The training targets professionals in education, healthcare, social services and employment. Its objective is to strengthen local expertise and enable participants to share their knowledge within their organizations.

Sessions will be held at Van Leeuwenhoekstraat 2, Oranjestad, generally from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Places are limited, and registration for individual courses is available.
