Pedestrian struck in Pos Chikito becomes Aruba’s 14th road fatality
POS CHIKITO — Julian Rambalde, 63, died in hospital on Wednesday, October 14, after being struck by a van on October 5 on Pos Chikito’s main road, near Rey Hing. His death brings Aruba’s road fatality toll for 2026 to 14, according to police.
The collision occurred at approximately 7:41 p.m. Paramedics stabilized Rambalde at the scene and rushed him to hospital, where he remained in intensive care in critical condition.
According to preliminary police information, a blue Hyundai Staria traveling east struck the pedestrian. Traffic specialists and forensic officers investigated the collision.
Rambalde was born in the Dominican Republic on February 20, 1963. Aruba police expressed condolences to his family and urged motorists to slow down, stay alert and follow traffic rules.
