DIMP: Couples married in 2024 must file jointly in 2025

ORANJESTAD – People who married during 2024 will be required to file their 2025 income tax return jointly as a married couple. To avoid problems during the filing process, the Tax Department is urging taxpayers to verify that their personal information is correct in the BOi Portal.

Taxpayers can check their marital status, spouse's name and date of marriage by selecting the "Gegevens belastingplichtige weergeven" folder in the portal.

Authorities stress that confirming this information is essential to ensure the tax return is processed correctly. Other taxpayers are also encouraged to verify their marital status and, where applicable, their spouse's information.
