MEP party calls for more transparency in ATA-Ecotech contract

ORANJESTAD – MEP parliamentary leader Evelyn Wever-Croes has outlined four key lessons that, she says, would strengthen good governance and transparency in the ATA-Ecotech contract issue. According to Wever-Croes, the concern is not the project itself, but how the process was handled.

Her recommendations include ensuring that each minister acts within his or her own responsibilities, that ATA remains within its legal mandate, that public tender procedures are followed whenever required by law, and that any appearance of conflicts of interest is avoided.

Wever-Croes said the proposals are intended as constructive suggestions to improve governance and prevent future concerns. She added that MEP is awaiting the requested information from the responsible ministry before deciding on any further action.
