ORANJESTAD – Marine Captain Glenn Werleman officially assumed command of ARUMIL (Aruban Militia) on August 1, following his transfer from his role as Adjutant to the Governor of Curaçao, His Excellency Mauritsz de Kort. As Adjutant, Werleman managed the Governor's official agenda, coordinated official visits, accompanied the Governor during public engagements and ensured that official protocol was followed.
His transfer is part of the regular personnel rotation within the Dutch Ministry of Defence. A new Adjutant Esther Vermue has already been appointed to serve the Governor of Curaçao.
ARUMIL is part of the Kingdom of the Netherlands' military presence in the Caribbean and works closely with the Royal Netherlands Navy. The organization supports military operations, training, disaster response and security missions. In recent years, Aruba has also worked to further professionalize ARUMIL and strengthen its role within the island's security structure.
