Argentine interest in travel to Aruba triples

ORANJESTAD – Aruba is strengthening its position as one of the fastest-growing international destinations among Argentine travelers. Interest in visiting the island tripled during the first six months of 2026 compared with the same period last year.

According to data from travel platform Despegar, Argentine travelers are increasingly looking beyond traditional destinations such as Brazil, Madrid and Miami. Aruba and Tokyo emerged as two of the strongest new travel trends during the first half of the year.

Aruba’s growth was largely attributed to the introduction of direct flights from Argentina, making the island more accessible to travelers seeking Caribbean beaches, warm weather and all-inclusive vacations.

A review by Argentine news outlet TN of travel booking platforms found that a package to Aruba between October 1 and 10, 2026, started at approximately US$2,965 per person. The price included airfare and accommodation at an all-inclusive resort.

The increase places Aruba among the Caribbean destinations attracting the greatest interest from Argentines planning international vacations.

Tokyo also registered exceptional growth, with travel inquiries rising 600%. The Japanese capital has now moved into ninth place among the international destinations most frequently selected by Argentine travelers.

Rio de Janeiro remained the most popular foreign destination during the first half of the year, followed by Santiago de Chile, Miami, São Paulo and New York. However, Aruba’s rapid growth shows that Argentine travel preferences are diversifying and that the island is gaining ground as a leading Caribbean option.
