Viral JetBlue alcohol video linked to flight from Aruba

ORANJESTAD – A viral social media video showing a JetBlue passenger apparently drinking her own alcohol onboard has drawn attention because it is believed to have been filmed on a flight departing Aruba.

According to the report, the passenger boarded with frozen drinks and later poured alcohol from a miniature bottle into a cup during the flight, despite allegedly being told by a flight attendant that passengers are not allowed to consume their own alcohol.

Based on the timing of her social media posts, including visits to Baby Beach and Flamingo Beach, the incident is believed to have occurred on JetBlue Flight 1612 from Aruba to Fort Lauderdale on July 31.

The video has sparked debate online, with some viewers praising the stunt while others warned about possible FAA enforcement.

Under U.S. federal regulations, passengers may bring alcohol onboard but are not permitted to drink alcohol unless it is served by the airline's crew. The rule allows cabin crews to monitor alcohol consumption and maintain safety during the flight.

Violations are generally handled as civil regulatory matters and can result in fines of up to US$17,062, although authorities would still need to prove that alcohol was actually consumed.
