Aruba strengthens border security and immigration enforcement

ORANJESTAD – The Aruban government is stepping up efforts to strengthen border security and immigration enforcement. That was the central message during a meeting chaired Tuesday morning by Minister of Justice, Integration, Public Transport and Energy Arthur Dowers with agencies responsible for border control and law enforcement.

During the meeting, Dowers presented an update on the Hunto pa Progreso program and outlined the government's strategic priorities to modernize and reinforce Aruba's immigration enforcement system. Representatives also discussed current developments, operational challenges and opportunities to improve cooperation.

According to the minister, close coordination among all agencies is essential to maintaining secure borders, an orderly immigration system and effective enforcement of immigration laws.

The meeting included representatives from the Caribbean Coast Guard, DIMAS, Aruba Customs, the Aruba Police Force, Immigration Aruba, Guarda Nos Costa, the Department of Legal Affairs and Legislation, the Border Supervision Progress Committee, and the offices of the Ministers of Justice and Finance.
