ORANJESTAD – Aruba's 2027 national budget has been submitted to the Council of Advice after receiving a positive assessment from the College Aruba Financial Supervision (CAft).
According to Minister of Finance, Economic Affairs and the Primary Sector Geoffrey Wever, the budget's key highlight is a projected Afl. 203 million surplus, equal to 2.3% of Aruba's Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
The government also expects to maintain healthy public finances in the years ahead. Financial projections for 2028 through 2031 anticipate annual budget surpluses of at least 1.5% of GDP, in line with Aruba's legal fiscal rules.
Once the Council of Advice issues its opinion, the AVP-FUTURO Cabinet will prepare the required follow-up report before formally submitting the budget to Parliament for approval.
