ORANJESTAD – PPA parliamentary leader Eduard Pieters has questioned why the government awarded a waste management-related project to a private company instead of Aruba's national waste management company, Serlimar. Pieters argued that Serlimar could have used the contract to strengthen its finances, expand its services and create greater value for Aruba. He said the decision contradicts the government's stated goal of strengthening public institutions and called on the government to explain why Serlimar was excluded.
