ORANJESTAD — Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) has renewed its ground handling concessions with Swissport and GenAir without opening a new selection process. The agreements take effect on January 1, 2027.

According to AAA, the decision follows an extensive evaluation. The new terms set stricter requirements for safety, security, service quality, trained staff and modern equipment. Both companies must also gradually transition to low-emission or electric vehicles and equipment. AAA will develop the necessary infrastructure.

AAA has not disclosed the duration of the concessions or their financial terms. It also remains unclear whether other companies were interested.
