ORANJESTAD — A group of vocational secondary students aged 13 to 19 took part on September 29 in The World of Vacation Ownership, a program held at La Cabana Beach Resort & Casino to introduce young people to Aruba’s timeshare industry.
The program is aimed at hospitality and vocational students and is designed to showcase the range of careers in timeshare, encourage interest in practical education and help students understand both the value they can bring to the sector and the opportunities it can offer them.
During the event, students were introduced to different industry roles, worked together on practical challenges and participated in a Vacation Ownership Challenge Lab, where teams developed a new concept for the Islander Grill restaurant.
According to ATSA president Sulaika Kelly, timeshare is an important part of Aruba’s tourism industry and offers career opportunities in areas such as sales, marketing, operations and resort management.
Organizers hope to continue the program in the coming years with support from local partners and businesses.
