Coast Guard intercepts boat near Rodgers Beach with three undocumented persons

ORANJESTAD — The Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard intercepted a drifting boat near Rodgers Beach after a report of suspicious activity at sea. Coast Guard personnel in Savaneta responded, with air support coordinated from Curaçao.
Three undocumented persons were found on board. The vessel was taken to the Coast Guard support point in Savaneta for further investigation.
The three were identified as Dominican nationals. With assistance from the Human Trafficking and Smuggling Unit (UMM) and the Aruba Police K-9 Unit, authorities thoroughly searched the boat but found nothing unusual.
The three individuals were handed over to Guarda Nos Costa, which together with UMM will continue the necessary procedures.
