Aruba Governor Boekhoudt received by King Willem-Alexander at Huis ten Bosch
ORANJESTAD — Aruba Governor Alfonso Boekhoudt was received in audience by King Willem-Alexander on the morning of September 17 at Huis ten Bosch Palace in The Hague.
Boekhoudt’s audience followed a meeting the previous day, September 16, between the King and Curaçao Governor Mauritsz de Kort. On September 17, the King also received Sint Maarten Governor Ajamu Baly.
According to the Dutch Royal House, the King regularly receives authorities from the Caribbean part of the Kingdom to be informed about recent developments in the islands.
The Caribbean part of the Kingdom consists of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the Caribbean Netherlands, which includes Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba.
For Aruba, the audience represents direct institutional contact between Governor Boekhoudt and King Willem-Alexander within the constitutional framework of the Kingdom.
