CISI: Aruba ranked safest Caribbean island to visit

ORANJESTAD – Aruba has been named the safest Caribbean island to visit in the 2025 Caribbean Island Safety Index, which compares 10 popular destinations across the region.

Aruba received an impressive score of 9.3 out of 10, placing it at the top of the ranking. The index evaluates destinations based on four factors affecting visitor safety: crime, active U.S. travel advisories, access to quality healthcare and hurricane risk.

One of Aruba’s major advantages is its relatively low exposure to hurricanes. While the Caribbean hurricane season normally runs from June through November, Aruba’s southern location means the island is less frequently directly affected by hurricanes than many other Caribbean destinations.

The report also highlights Aruba’s white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, tourism infrastructure and strong air connections with major U.S. cities.

Queen Beatrix International Airport offers connections to hubs including New York, Miami, Atlanta and Dallas. English is also widely spoken, while the U.S. dollar is accepted at most establishments, making the island particularly convenient for American visitors.

According to the ranking, Aruba’s combination of safety, healthcare access and relatively low hurricane risk helped secure its position as the safest island destination in the Caribbean.
