ORANJESTAD – Member of Parliament Jennifer Arends-Reyes (AVP), chair of Parliament’s Tourism Committee, visited Riu Palace Aruba to review the results of an approximately $106 million renovation.

During a presentation and tour of the property, Arends-Reyes viewed the renovated facilities and the upgrades designed to improve the hotel’s product, services and overall guest experience.

According to the parliamentarian, investments of this scale are important for maintaining Aruba’s competitiveness as a high-quality tourism destination. In addition to strengthening the island’s hotel offering, she said such projects generate economic activity and support the continued development of the hospitality industry.

“For Aruba to remain competitive, it is essential that our tourism product continues to evolve and modernize,” Arends-Reyes said.

As chair of the Tourism Committee, she stressed the importance of maintaining direct contact with the sector to better understand its opportunities and challenges. She said government, Parliament and private businesses must continue working together to promote sustainable, competitive and high-quality tourism.
