ORANJESTAD – Authorities have arrested six people in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Rayshon Kelly, who was fatally shot on July 22, 2026, in the parking area behind Stadion Nadi Croes/Crismo Angela near the Macuarima–Rooi Bosa border.

According to investigators, Kelly was riding a motorcycle with another person when a car carrying three occupants stopped and opened fire. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and later died at the hospital despite emergency treatment.

Police and prosecutors are investigating several possible motives. One theory is that the incident may have been linked to a planned sale of a smartphone through Facebook Marketplace. Investigators are also examining whether the suspects used a scheme in which buyers were lured to inspect merchandise before being robbed.

Six suspects have now been arrested, including two individuals who were allegedly preparing to leave Aruba. The Public Prosecution Service has not yet disclosed the specific role of each suspect, as the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities expect the court proceedings to provide a clearer picture of what happened and who was responsible for Kelly's killing.
