F1 may finish season in Europe if Middle East conflict continues

LONDON – Formula 1 could end its 2026 season in Europe if the security situation in the Middle East does not improve. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said the Qatar and Abu Dhabi Grands Prix remain on schedule, but a final decision will be made before mid-September.
If the races cannot take place, Formula 1 will move the season finale to Europe, with circuits such as Imola mentioned as possible alternatives. Earlier this year, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix were cancelled because of the regional conflict.
Domenicali also confirmed there are no plans to stage a second race in Las Vegas, while Formula 1 remains committed to completing a 24-race calendar in 2027 as well.
