Aruba explores importing more fresh produce from Peru

LIMA, Peru – Prime Minister Mike Eman met with AGAP President Gabriel Amaro Zamora to discuss expanding imports of fresh fruits and vegetables from Peru to Aruba.

The meeting focused on Aruba's demand for fresh produce for both residents and the hospitality industry. Products discussed included blueberries, grapes and a variety of other fruits and vegetables.

According to AGAP, Peru is one of the world's leading agricultural exporters, supplying fresh produce to more than 150 countries. The organisation views Aruba as a promising market but says demand, logistics and supply volumes must first be evaluated.

The meeting marks an initial step toward exploring a more direct agricultural trade relationship between Aruba and Peru.
