Circuit Zandvoort sold as Prince Bernhard exits business interests
ZANDVOORT – The Dutch Formula 1 circuit at Zandvoort will have new owners after Prince Bernhard of Orange announced the sale of all his business interests.
According to his spokesperson, Bernhard is selling his stakes in Circuit Zandvoort, Media Park in Hilversum, IT company Levi9 and several real estate portfolios. The assets are being acquired by his business partners Menno de Jong and Coen Groeneveld.
The sale also marks the end of Bernhard's involvement with Circuit Zandvoort, which he purchased in 2016. He played a key role in bringing Formula 1 back to the Netherlands after decades away.
The 2026 Dutch Grand Prix will be the final Formula 1 race at Zandvoort. Bernhard said the mission had been accomplished.
"We brought Formula 1 back to the Netherlands, and for six editions Zandvoort was on the world stage. It couldn't have been better, and that's exactly when you have to make a choice," he said.
