SAN NICOLAS – Stichting Monumentenfonds Aruba (SMFA) has officially become the owner of the historic Seroe Colorado Community Church, following the completion of its transfer from the Government of Aruba.

The church has been in poor condition for years, and restoring the landmark is now the foundation's top priority. Archiosa Architects N.V. has pledged to provide the restoration design free of charge as a contribution to the community.

The project will be carried out in four phases, beginning with emergency roof and structural repairs, followed by the renovation of the former Sunday School building, improvements to the surrounding grounds, and the full restoration of the church itself.

SMFA is now seeking funding and is calling on the public to support the preservation of the historic church, which holds significant cultural and historical value for former Lago refinery workers, their families, and Aruba's heritage.
