ORANJESTAD – MP Mike de Meza declared himself independent on Friday evening after the AVP party withdrew its motion calling for an immediate increase in the minimum wage.
In an exclusive interview with 24ora.com, De Meza said he no longer identifies with AVP and considers it unacceptable that FUTURO is calling the shots. He said he would inform the president of Parliament of his decision.
The announcement came during Friday’s parliamentary debate on the 2026 supplementary budget.
