ORANJESTAD — Parliamentarians Evelyn Wever-Croes and Rocco Tjon, representing the MEP faction, have filed an administrative appeal with Aruba’s Court of First Instance against Minister Gerlien Croes’ refusal to answer questions about her official private jet trip to Curaçao on November 19, 2025.

According to MEP, Croes maintained her decision despite advice from the LAR objections advisory committee to answer, without adequately explaining why she departed from that advice. The faction wants proof of the portion of the landing fee the minister says she paid. According to the statement, Croes considers the payment evidence personal information.

MEP also questions who paid the remaining expenses and whether this constituted a gift requiring disclosure and approval under the ministerial code of conduct. The faction alleges those rules were not followed.

Wever-Croes and Tjon are asking the court to overturn the August 28, 2026 decision and require the minister to disclose how much she paid, to whom and when. MEP’s allegations remain subject to the court’s assessment.
