Winair earns international safety certification

PHILIPSBURG — Winair has secured registration under two international aviation safety programs covering its entire fleet.
The Sint Maarten-based airline successfully completed the IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) for its ATR 42 operations and the IATA Standard Safety Assessment (ISSA) for its DHC-6 Twin Otter fleet.
According to Winair, it is currently the only airline in the world holding both registrations at the same time. Preparations for the audits began in early 2024 and covered flight and ground operations, maintenance, security and organizational management.
The certifications could also support further codeshare and interline agreements with international airlines.
