EAGLE BEACH – The Food & Beverage and Culinary teams at JOIA Aruba by Iberostar have successfully completed specialized training and earned vegan-friendly certification from Vegan Aruba.
The certification forms part of Iberostar’s commitment to continuous professional development, sustainability and a more responsible tourism model. According to the company, hotel menus aim to include at least 30% vegan-friendly options, giving guests a wider selection of high-quality plant-based choices.
The training covered ingredient standards, animal products used in beverage processing, plant-based cuisine, food preparation techniques and best practices for accommodating vegan dietary preferences.
A major focus was adapting existing dishes rather than simply adding new ones. This allows the culinary team to expand vegan-friendly choices while maintaining flavor, presentation and quality.
The initiative also supports Iberostar’s “Wave of Change” program, aimed at reducing climate impact, protecting nature and increasing plant-based dining options.
Chef Ludwich said the certification reflects the team’s enthusiasm for learning, commitment to excellence and ability to turn new knowledge into meaningful improvements for guests.
