MEP gives Minister Croes 48 hours to deliver LAR decision
ORANJESTAD – Members of Parliament Evelyn Wever-Croes and Rocco Tjon have sent a formal letter to Minister Gerlien Croes, stating that the legal deadline for issuing a new decision in the LOB case related to the private-jet trip has expired.
According to them, the LAR Objections Committee sent its advice to the minister on July 10, 2026. From that date, the minister had six weeks to issue a new decision, a deadline that expired on August 21.
Wever-Croes and Tjon say they have still received neither a new decision nor a copy of the LAR advice. They are therefore demanding that Croes provide both documents within 48 hours.
They base their request on Article 20 of the Landsverordening administratieve rechtspraak, which they say requires the decision to be provided immediately once the legal deadline has passed.
“The legal deadline has passed. We are not asking for anything extraordinary. We are simply asking the minister to comply with her legal obligation,” they said.
If Croes does not respond within 48 hours, Wever-Croes and Tjon say they will consider further legal steps under the LAR.
