Herdé: Reorganization must continue for Aruba’s benefit

ORANJESTAD – During an interview with Tito Laclé on Noticiacla LIVE, Minister René Herdé emphasized that the work within government is not limited to carrying out the governing program, but also includes a broader process of reorganization and improvement of systems that are currently not functioning as they should.

Herdé said there are several areas where government needs to restore order and find solutions, particularly in infrastructure and administrative procedures. According to him, the goal must be to achieve results that benefit Aruba, rather than serve partisan interests, family members or friends.

“I am not doing anything partisan to favor family, friends or anyone else,” Herdé said during the interview. He added that his priority is to identify what is not working for the public and find ways to correct it.

Tito Laclé asked the minister whether he has guarantees that, regardless of what happens politically, the work that has already started can continue. Herdé indicated that continuity is important, especially when it concerns changes that directly benefit Aruba.

Among the problems mentioned during the conversation were delays in land drainage procedures, building permits and the automation of different government systems. Herdé said these are examples of areas where modernization is needed and where obstacles causing delays for citizens and businesses should be removed.

According to the minister, if a process has started and is producing something positive for Aruba, the priority should be to continue it, regardless of political or personnel changes.
