ORANJESTAD - Organizations in Aruba and the other ABCSSS islands can apply for funding for projects aimed at strengthening the organization of healthcare. The ZonMw programme focuses on improving cooperation, coordination, accessibility, quality and efficiency within the healthcare system.
Healthcare institutions, educational institutions and non-profit organizations may apply individually or through partnerships. The lead applicant must be based in Aruba, Bonaire, Curaçao, Sint Maarten, Statia or Saba.
A total of €360,000 is available, with grants of up to €60,000 per project for projects lasting a maximum of 24 months. At least 75% of each project's budget must be spent on the islands themselves, ensuring that most of the funding directly supports local healthcare capacity.
Eligible projects can include innovative healthcare solutions, improved cooperation between sectors, optimization of existing processes and the introduction or expansion of proven care models and methods. Projects that benefit vulnerable groups, including the elderly and refugees, are particularly encouraged.
The deadline for full applications is August 25, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. Aruba time. Funding decisions are expected in early February 2027, with successful projects scheduled to start in May 2027.
