Gasoline price jumps 25.1 cents in a single adjustment

ORANJESTAD – Motorists in Aruba will face a sharp increase in fuel prices effective Wednesday, August 12. Premium unleaded gasoline will rise by 25.1 cents per liter, from 265.8 cents to 290.9 cents per liter.

For a 50-liter fill-up, that means an immediate increase of approximately Afl. 12.55, from Afl. 132.90 under July’s rate to about Afl. 145.45.

Diesel will rise even more sharply, by 29.7 cents per liter, reaching 286.3 cents. Kerosene will increase by 19.4 cents to 256.6 cents per liter.

The gasoline increase amounts to roughly 9.4% in a single month. In July, the price had fallen by 10.7 cents to 265.8 cents. The new increase not only wipes out that reduction, but puts gasoline 14.4 cents per liter above its level before July’s price cut.

Looking further back, the increase is even more pronounced. Gasoline stood at 210.7 cents per liter in January 2026. At the new rate, it is now 80.2 cents higher, nearly 38% more in seven months. A 50-liter fill-up therefore costs about Afl. 40.10 more than at the start of the year.

Diesel has climbed from 188.5 cents in January to 286.3 cents, an increase of nearly 52%, while kerosene has risen from 175.6 to 256.6 cents, or around 46%.

Despite the sharp increase, gasoline remains below the exceptional level of June 2022, when the price in Aruba reached 321.2 cents per liter.

The new prices include BBO, BAZV and BAVP.
