ORANJESTAD – The Aruba Baseball Bond Amateur (ABBA) has announced that the A-Class and AA baseball championships have been temporarily cancelled because the lighting system at Nadi Croes/Crisimo Angela Stadium is not functioning.

According to ABBA, the organization explored several alternatives in an effort to start the season but was unable to secure the necessary cooperation from all teams and parties involved.

As a result, ABBA said it had no other option but to suspend the competition until the situation is resolved.

In its statement, the organization expressed regret over the inconvenience and disappointment caused to players, officials, fans and others involved in baseball. ABBA also noted that some weekend activities appear to receive greater priority and support, while the AA and A-Class categories do not receive the same level of attention.

ABBA reaffirmed its commitment to the development and promotion of baseball in Aruba and said it will continue working to find solutions so the championship can resume as soon as possible.
