U.S. resumes airstrikes on Iranian military targets

WASHINGTON – The United States resumed airstrikes on military targets in Iran for the first time since Friday. The U.S. military described the operation as a strong response to recent Iranian attacks on American bases in the region.

The strikes targeted command centers, missile and drone sites, and radar installations linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. Iran claims that some civilian sites were also hit.

Iranian authorities reported that four Revolutionary Guard members were killed. Iran had earlier launched missiles at U.S. bases in Jordan, although Washington said all were intercepted.

Meanwhile, a U.S. gas tanker in the Egyptian port of Damietta was struck by a drone, causing a fire. It remains unclear who carried out the attack.
