ORANJESTAD – Aruba's national cleanup campaign collected more than 211 tons of waste by Saturday afternoon, making the initiative a major success. The figure is based on 131 containers and does not yet include waste delivered to DOW, AWSS and Daltra, meaning the final total is expected to be even higher.

Thousands of residents, families, businesses, sports teams and volunteers took part, filling collection containers faster than expected. Prime Minister Mike Eman said the overwhelming public response exceeded expectations and demonstrated the need for similar campaigns in the future.

The government will now evaluate the operation and use the findings to improve future cleanup campaigns.
