GOL to end direct Brazil-Aruba flights in October

ORANJESTAD – GOL Linhas Aéreas will end its nonstop service between São Paulo, Brazil, and Aruba in October 2026, according to a joint announcement by Aruba Airport Authority (AAA) and the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.) on thursday.

The organizations thanked the airline for its partnership and its contribution to strengthening air connectivity between Aruba and Brazil since the route was introduced.

GOL said the decision is part of its broader commercial strategy and is based on market conditions and the airline's long-term operational and financial sustainability. Aruba's tourism and airport authorities emphasized that the move does not affect the strong relationship established with the carrier over the years.

The direct route has helped diversify Aruba's tourism markets by improving access for Brazilian travelers. Brazil continues to be viewed as a strategic source market with strong potential to attract high-value visitors.

Although the nonstop flights will end in October, travelers from Brazil will still be able to reach Aruba through connecting flights. Service from São Paulo will remain available through GOL's airline partners, while other carriers also offer connecting itineraries.

AAA, A.T.A. and the Ministry of Tourism said they remain committed to the Brazilian market and will continue working with airline partners to strengthen connectivity and explore opportunities to restore direct service in the future.
