Pieters(PPA): Invest in teachers before changing the rules

ORANJESTAD – PPA parliamentarian Eduard Pieters says the government is moving too quickly with changes to promotion standards in public primary schools without fully preparing the education system.

Pieters said PPA supports more inclusive education but believes the new educational vision should first be implemented and teachers properly trained before changing student evaluation and promotion rules. According to him, teachers cannot be expected to work differently without receiving the necessary training and support.

He concluded that successful education reform depends not on new regulations, but on investing in teachers, preparing schools and keeping students at the center of every decision.
