Powerful 7.4 earthquake strikes off Mexico with tsunami warning

MEXICO CITY – A powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck off the southwestern coast of Mexico, according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The quake's epicenter was located 10 kilometers below the surface near Puerto Madero, close to the border with Guatemala.

A tsunami warning has been issued for coastal areas, and the earthquake was felt as far away as Guatemala City, where buildings were reported to have swayed.
