Jetten leaves sensitive Curaçao issues out of public recap

WILLEMSTAD – Dutch Prime Minister Rob Jetten highlighted cooperation, security, sustainability and community development in his social media recap of his visit to Curaçao, but left out several of the most politically and financially sensitive issues discussed during official meetings.

Among the omitted topics were the future of the reform package, the refinancing of Dutch loans, governance reforms and the Netherlands' position on a United Nations slavery resolution, which drew criticism in the Caribbean. According to the report, the visit focused largely on the future of Kingdom relations, economic reforms, poverty reduction, security and the transition to renewable energy.
