JetBlue expands Aruba access with new Nashville connection

ORANJESTAD – JetBlue has launched a new route that could provide an additional boost to Caribbean tourism, including Aruba. Since July 9, the airline has been operating three daily nonstop flights between Nashville International Airport and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, creating an easier travel option from one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the United States.

Although the new service connects two U.S. cities, its greatest impact may be on the Caribbean. Fort Lauderdale has become one of JetBlue's main Caribbean hubs, offering convenient one-stop connections to Aruba, The Bahamas, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic, Grand Cayman, St. Maarten and several other island destinations.

According to Caribbean Journal, the route opens access to a rapidly growing market with increasing population and economic activity, making it easier for travelers from Middle Tennessee to reach Aruba with just one connection.

JetBlue continues to expand its Fort Lauderdale operation, where it is operating nearly 130 daily departures this summer and expects to exceed 150 daily flights by the end of the year.

From Fort Lauderdale, the airline serves Aruba, Nassau, Montego Bay, Kingston, San Juan, Punta Cana, Santo Domingo, Santiago de los Caballeros, Grand Cayman and St. Maarten. Later this year, JetBlue also plans to launch new international service to Barranquilla and Cali, Colombia.

The Nashville route reflects a broader trend in Caribbean aviation, with airlines increasingly strengthening major connecting hubs such as Fort Lauderdale instead of adding nonstop flights from every U.S. city.

For Aruba, the development could help attract more visitors from a fast-growing region of the United States.
