POZO IZQUIERDO – Aruban windsurf star Sarah-Quita Offringa opened the new PWA Wave season with an impressive second-place finish at the World Cup event in Pozo Izquierdo, Gran Canaria. The 28-time world champion was defeated in the final by local windsurfing legend Daida Moreno, who claimed the prestigious event for the 23rd time.

Competition conditions were challenging throughout the week, with strong and unpredictable winds and demanding waves. Nevertheless, Offringa sailed confidently into the final. Although she was unable to find her usual rhythm in the deciding heat, her consistent performances throughout the event earned her an outstanding runner-up finish.

The result marks a solid start to the new season for Offringa. The experienced Aruban, who has collected numerous world titles across multiple windsurfing disciplines, once again proved she remains among the very best in the world, even under difficult conditions.

Victory went to Spain's Daida Moreno, who once again demonstrated her dominance on home waters. After advancing through the Challenger Round, Moreno won every heat she contested to secure her 23rd victory in Pozo Izquierdo.

Spain's Alexia Kiefer Quintana finished third, while 16-year-old Belgian Sol Degrieck placed fourth.
