ORANJESTAD – Reinoud H. den Haan officially assumed office as Aruba's new Chief Public Prosecutor on July 1, 2026. He was nominated by Minister of Justice Arthur Dowers and subsequently appointed by the Council of Ministers for a four-year term.
Den Haan (51) joins Aruba from the Public Prosecution Service in the Netherlands. Throughout his career as a public prosecutor, he has gained extensive experience serving at several prosecution offices. More recently, from 2019 to 2022, he served as Advocate General in Philipsburg, St. Maarten. Within the Dutch Public Prosecution Service, he also held several senior leadership positions.
With his extensive experience and expertise, Den Haan is expected to dedicate the coming years to further strengthening the Public Prosecution Service in Aruba.
