WILLEMSTAD — Curaçao has begun discussions with U.S. authorities to introduce American immigration and customs preclearance at Hato Airport, similar to the system operating in Aruba since 1996. Justice Minister Shalten Hato raised the proposal during meetings in Washington. The system allows passengers to clear U.S. border inspections before departure. According to Curaçao Chronicle, no formal agreement, implementation date or budget has been announced.
