LONDON — British Airways, which already operates the world’s largest Business Class cabin on the Airbus A380, is making it even bigger as part of a major refurbishment of the superjumbo.
The number of Business Class seats will increase from 97 to 106 suites, with the entire upper deck of the A380 dedicated to the premium cabin. Each seat will be housed in a private suite with a sliding door.
Premium Economy will also expand from 55 to 84 seats. Economy will be reduced sharply from 303 to 215 seats, while First Class will decrease from 14 to 12.
To prevent the huge Business Class cabin from feeling too large, British Airways will divide the upper deck into four separate zones, broken up by lavatories and galley areas.
The airline says the new design will also give passengers more room to move around and stretch their legs during the flight.
