ORANJESTAD — Wendrick Cicilia officially assumed leadership of the AVP at its October 4 congress, succeeding Mike Eman after his 25 years at the helm.
Cicilia thanked Eman for his legacy of service and pledged to combine the AVP’s historic values with fresh ideas, dialogue and accountability for results. He emphasized that leadership means listening to the community and serving the common good.
“If part of Aruba is left behind, Aruba cannot truly progress,” he declared, calling for opportunities and well-being for families, pensioners, young people and small-business owners.
The new leader also committed to protecting nature and culture. He concluded with a call for unity, accepting the responsibility with humility and confidence in the future.
