ATA: Gen X leads tourist arrival to Aruba year to date
ORANJESTAD — Aruba welcomed 145,750 stayover visitors in August 2026, recording 967,001 visitor nights and an average stay of 6.6 nights, according to the Aruba Tourism Authority (A.T.A.).
North America accounted for 69.6% of arrivals, followed by South America with 22.3% and Europe with 5.8%. The United States was the largest individual market with 96,790 visitors. Argentina recorded 14,901, while the Netherlands led the European market with 2,720.
The generational breakdown for January through August shows that Gen X, born between 1965 and 1980, was the largest segment at 26.4%. Millennials accounted for 24.3%, Baby Boomers for 23% and Gen Z for 17.4%. A.T.A. uses these insights to adapt tourism strategies and experiences to different traveler groups.
In the short-term vacation rental sector, average August occupancy was 57%, compared with 60% in August 2025. The average daily rate increased from USD 318 to USD 359.
